The next offering will be Jung's autobiography, Memories, Dreams, Reflections, and we'll start on Tuesday, October 4th, 2016. The sessions will be held on Tuesday evenings from 7:00- 8:30 pm at our new Center.
I propose we read Jung's story in a different way, as a sort of model for examining one's own inner life and journey. As we read of Jung's first memories and dreams, for instance, we will take the time to ponder our own first memories and dreams. As we read of Jung's discernment about his early career, we will ponder our first beginnings, and as we examine Jung's confrontation with the unconscious, we will consider our own meetings with the unconscious.
His meeting and time with Freud will be an occasion for us to reflect on the influential figures in our lives, his journeys to Africa and India will allow us to reflect on how our own travels have contributed to our psychological growth. And as Jung ponders the end of his life, in his "Late Thoughts" and his reflections on the afterlife, we can consider our own personal myth in this regard.
We will engage Jung's story as a template for writing our own stories, seeing our lives from an inner perspective, attending to the deepest meanings we might discern.
Regarding fees, I charge $90 per six-week block of sessions, and together we decide how many six-week blocks we do per book. And I offer LPC and SW CEUs for these sessions as well.
